Crafts/Kids Wild A Rainforests
Published in Library Binding by Millbrook Press (01 August, 1997)
Average review score:

Super Hands on bookThis is a great book for children about third grade level. It does have a few activities that younger kids could do with a little head start. It has great step by step instructions and pictures. Most are things that can be recylcled and are inexpensive items. The ideas don't necessarily have to be related to the rainforest. Just an all around great book for hands on learning.

The Cricket Term
Published in Hardcover by Faber & Faber (February, 1982)
Average review score:

Cricket Term is a Great ReadI love this book. Even though I have read the book several times, I get caught up in the tension everytime as the underdog lower 4th form cricket team, led by Nicola Marlowe, slowly fight their way to the final against the 6th form and her arch-rival, slimy Lois Sanger. There are not enough good stories written that really create great heroines, and playing sports at that. I wish I could get a hold of all of the Marlowe books. They are worth reading and rereading no matter how old you are.

Deep Dream of the Rain Forest
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (October, 1999)
Average review score:

Very goodThis book was great! It was so descriptive and realistic-I learned a lot about the rainforest just from reading it. I'd definitely recommend it to everyone who wants to read an incredible book.

Deep Woods Frontier: A History of Logging in Northern Michigan (Great Lakes Books)
Published in Hardcover by Wayne State Univ Pr (January, 1990)
Average review score:

Great History of the Heydays of Northern Michigan LoggingHighly recommended if you have any interest in the timber industry's history. Book includes commentary on the results of some poor management practices and the attempts to farm clear-cuts. A good history of logging and the lessons learned. Lots of interesting characters and stories, as well. Obviously a well researched book.

Desert Tree Finder: A Pocket Manual for Identifying Desert Trees
Published in Paperback by Nature Study Guild (June, 1974)
Average review score:

You Can Be The Tree Expert! This teriffic little book is paper, lightweight -- and can identify nearly every tree I threw at it! (Comon, we're talking about trees in the outdoors, not funny thinks they've imported at the nursery!)
Tree Finder is an expert system reduced to a simple booklet. Look at the leaf, find the picture on page zz, which asks a diagnostic question and directs you to one of several other pages, depending on the answer. In three or four page turns, you have a positive tree identification. Nifty! Hey, even fun!!
I bought Tree Finders for all my outdoor friends --they all loved it and now carry The Tree Book on hikes.

Discovering Sierra Trees (Discovering Sierra Series)
Published in Paperback by Yosemite Assn (December, 1986)
Average review score:

All the trees of the SierraThis is the most accessible guide to Sierra Forests I have seen. The text makes you want to get up and out to the woods, but the real prize is the very artistic illustrations. I return to them again and again. The only drawback is the author confines himself to the southern Sierra but most or all of these trees can be found throughout the Sierra. Also the book is not widely distributed, but that's where Amazon comes in!

Divine Days: A Novel
Published in Paperback by W.W. Norton & Company (January, 1995)
Average review score:

jazz, stories, history- it doesn't get any better than this!Written in the free-form style of jazz music, Leon Forrest's novel captures the pride, woe and miracle of a people and of a generation. There will never be a more human, more complete, more whole celebration of storytelling and history than Divine Days!!!

Dome In the Forest
Published in Paperback by Futura Publishing Co Inc ()
Average review score:

Another great Northwall book1100 years had passsed since The Time of the Fire, and civilization was slowly returning to what had been the Mississippi Valley. The male-dominated plains nomads had begun to settle peacefully around the citadel of Northwall, where they freely married with townsfolk. A new culture was evolving. But all was not well. Pelbarigan's conservative families longed for the old times: when their city led and Northwall followed; when plainsmen and citadelfolk were enemies. . .when women ordered & men obeyed!

The Dos-Five Coursebook/With Companion and Disk

Best book that teaches DOSThis is the best book I have come across in teaching DOS. I have not found any equivelent book that even comes close to this book.
DOS is an essential part of Windows NT, Windows 95/98, and OS/2. At some point users will need to utilize DOS for a wide range of chores not provided by a GUI interface, especially for server and development environments.
